Mines, Demolitions, and Breaching Procedures

A unit may use mines during security, defensive, and offensive operations in order to reduce the enemy’s mobility. In such operations, you must emplace the mines and, when required, retrieve them. In order to breach minefields and wire obstacles; there will be times when you have to physically detect and clear them. You must be proficient at correctly and safely handling demolition firing systems. This chapter will help you gain a true appreciation of the requirements and time it takes to perform an actual mine-warfare mission.
